Future trend scenarios for fashion accessory

HOMI Fashion&Jewels is confirmed as one of the main reference points for trends in the world of fashion accessories: in fact, at each edition, the event presents concepts outlined by Poli.Design that identify the trends of the coming years.

In September 2022, this collaboration enabled the creation of FJ Visions of Tomorrow: an area that in its Fashion Future Incubator section showcased the Collections interpreting this Season's fashion and with the Fashion Future Trend space allowed people to discover the new forecasts: Too good to Be True and Like me, Like me Not.

FASHION FUTURE TREND

Too good to Be True

It describes worlds that seemed so far away but are actually becoming reality. Nature regaining the upper hand, winning over waste, superficial choices and becoming the priority for consumers and companies. Sustainable actions such as the use of recycled materials or the new life of objects are key. At the same time, the fear that the Earth is no longer enough, accelerates the exploration of the universe.

Too good to Be True IS CHARACTERIZED BY FOUR MICRO TRENDS:

Nature Supremacy

Nature Supremacy tells of nature’s supremacy over the artificial world. A protagonist of the present, the natural world is enhanced, safeguarded and used as formal inspiration.

Space on Earth

Space on Earth takes the formal and superficial inspirations that come from space and transfers them into the real world. Spacesuits, futuristic-looking inflatable accessories and alien spacecraft descend to Earth to invade it with their aesthetics.

Hyper Boom

Hyper Boom immerses itself in the digital world by capturing the languages of augmented reality, the technologies that increasingly populate objects and the aesthetics of numerical codes.

Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After celebrates love in all its forms. With the end of restrictions on gatherings, there is a boom in weddings and an increasing demand for accessories that can make the promise of eternal fidelity tangible.

Like me, Like me Not

It emphasizes the beauty of contrasts, freedom of expression, indifferent to the judgment of others. In a contemporary context where likes dictate fame, success or define a person's talent, this trend aims to redefine the importance of being and not liking. It thus explicitly declares when one is trying to be something that one is not; excesses are not hidden but peculiarities are enhanced.

Like me, Like me Not IS CHARACTERIZED BY FOUR MICRO TRENDS:

Wannabe

Wannabe is what one would like to be. It is a race against stereotypes interrupted by the urge to express oneself, a desire to play the role of someone else, an awareness of the impossibility of achieving the myth of perfection.

Overflow

Overflow captures the beauty of the soft shapes of the body and its irregular, welcoming softness. Narrow volumes, defined by too narrow containers, become manifestos for free self-expression.

Trial and Error

Trial and Error celebrates the discovery of the best way to achieve a desired result or a correct solution by trying one or more ways and noticing, eliminating or accentuating errors. The process is repeated until perfection is achieved or until the imperfections are appreciated.

State with Color

State with colour uses colour as a design constraint. Used individually or mixed together, colours take on heterogeneous meanings and shapes to satisfy the most eccentric tastes.

BEYOND REALITY - MACRO TREND

Beyond Reality looks at Surrealism that shines with a contemporary aura to renew the relationship between the world and the individual. The dream, the irrational, and the unconscious take shape to be an escape from the concrete and an alternative to reality. A dream worls in which four main topics emerge: love ad the fulcrum of life, the dream and the crazy extravagance ad means to overcome the rationality and the indivudal’s liberation from social conversions.

BEYOND REALITY IS CHARACTERIZED BY FOUR MICRO TRENDS:

LOVE IS BLIND

Love is Blind tells the forms of love in contemporary surrealism. Free form all constraints, love fills the hearts and screens of contemporary generations, becomes a tool for sending positive collective messages and is the hope that nourishes the present and that is sought in the uncertainty of the future.

DAYDREAM

Daydream is the daydream that we can live everyday thanks to the beauty of contemporary arts and compositional experiments. Magical worlds are continually under our eyes, to find them you just need to have a closer look.

WILD EXTRAVAGANCE

Wild Extravagance is the magic potion to overcome rationality through reconnectiong with one’s instincts, discovering the mysteries that live in paradoxes and immersion in one’s subconscious.

FREESTYLE

Freestyle is the liberation of the individual from social conventions thanks to a return to a primordial world where rules did not exist, thaks to a rediscovery of the benefits of nature and its protection and thanks to a rapprochement with creative experimentation through play.

HANDLE WITH CARE - MACRO TREND

Handle with Care celebrates the brauty of the body in all its forms to stem the search for perfection. Taking care of yourself is acceptance, discovery and the ability to value who you are. The body is a formal inspiration but also a user: it abandons constraints in favor of comfort, explores its fluid languages, tells about itself throuth accessories that reveal, emphasize it or make it shine, freeing itself from any taboo, it reveals itself for what it is or, sometimes, it disguises itself to deceive the observer.

HANDLE WITH CARE IS CHARACTERIZED BY FOUR MICRO TRENDS:

MAKE YOURSELF COMPORTABLE

Make yourself Comfortable is the rediscovery of being ad comfortable as at home and at ease with your body even outside. Ad a result of the restrictions of the last period, domestic life with its oversized dresses, very soft and undeniably functional, becomes disruptive inspiration.

FLUID FIGURE

Fluid Figure is the rapresentation of the fluidity of the expression of the human body through voluntary o involuntary movement, through the spontaneity and smoothness that each human figure han regardless of its individual characteristics, but also through the emotional or physical shields each one uses to defend or emphasize their forms.

SPEAKING BODY

Speaking Body is about the expressive power of the body that becomes a means of communication. Taboos are abandoned by highlighting what is usually hidden; you smile with every part of yourself shining in the eyes of others; you exaggerate by zooming in and out on physical details.

THE DRESS DOESN’T MAKE THE PRIEST

The Dress doesn’t make the Priest calls into question everything that is seen on the surface. The eye is deceived by objects and materials that appear for what they really are not or the contrary is attracted by what is shown in its entirety and without filters.

Fashion accessories trends are constantly transforming, influenced by the context in which we live and the eclectic creativity of designers: HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition since 2020 has been using the collaboration of Poli.Design to explore trends more closely and understand the evolution of consumer behavior.
