Slow Renaissance

At its last edition (from 19 to 22 September 2020) HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition presented the new trends that will enliven the forthcoming season. One of these has been named “Slow Renaissance”, by which is meant a return to nature, to origins, in order to (try to) rewrite tomorrow. This is the aim of the concept featured at the event in collaboration with Poli.Design. The concept was approached and reworked by the design students, and these were the results:

Rebirth

Rebirth as a rediscovery of oneself. A return to childhood to take pleasure in the revelation of beauty as seen in the simplicity of small things: a caress, an unexpected detail, a curious habit.

Relationships reorganised on a screen: the digital photo frame decides which parts of the body are to be shown, with adornments carefully chosen. The head, the face, the ears and the neck are the key players in a remote communication process that reduces the size of the surfaces that fashion and jewellery have always explored.

Breath

Breathing. Reclaiming open spaces and allowing the energy of the sun and of daylight not only to regenerate the spirit but also to make what is being worn shine. A chlorophyll-like photosynthesis involving materials and surfaces with characteristics that cause them to be transformed when they come into contact with natural elements.

DIY

Killing time through creative entertainment. Do It Yourself (DIY) promotes the idea that each and every one of us can carry out manual activities without the help of an expert. Depending on individual skills and inclinations, jewellery in many different shapes and forms can be created, all from the same starting point.
