Romanticism with a natural, handmade touch

Fashion says yes to subtle shades and handmade details. In 2020 romanticism is going hand in hand with the most natural kind of femininity. After years of streetwear, trends are turning the page in favour of softer, more sophisticated accessories: a new romantic mood is returning to daily life and informal living and will no longer be something just for holiday time.

The new romantic look is coming back into its own, and in a big way: long skirts and dresses that are all about fluidity, embellished with micro-bead necklaces, fine chains, nostalgic floral patterns, beautiful lace and clutch bags in bon ton style.

There will also be a touch of innocence mixed in, suggesting a more childlike femininity, with rounded, lace-trimmed collars, smock tops in Saint Gallen lace, flowers around the ears and satin headbands.

And then there will be plenty of natural elements to suggest a certain type of coolness: broad-brimmed straw hats, woven bags with leather details and footwear with hand-crafted soles – fashion items that can easily be combined with crocheted dresses and tops (another big trend this season).

The colour palette will play a decisive role and will involve everything from delicate shades of almond white, to touches of pastel pink, yellow and green, as well as lavender purple, a colour that is really in vogue in summer 2020.
