HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition, an ongoing emotion

The fashion business is starting again from sensations, because what is throbbing is the intoxicating sensation of being all together in one place, ready to engage with each other, with the full intention of setting the course for the future.

Looking into each other's eyes and telling (or hearing) stories was the strongest emotion of this edition of HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition. The fashion business is starting again from sensations, because what is throbbing is the intoxicating sensation of being all together in one place, ready to engage with each other, with the full intention of setting the course for the future.

The curiosity of those who are looking for something new, something special, something personal has certainly satisfied their desires with the different and varied proposals: chains worked on the loom as fabrics, resins that give off intense colours, enamelled bronze, recycled cotton and even springs used to decorate. Creativity had no limits, while experimentation satisfied the eye as well as the substance.

The world of accessories continues its tale of craftsmanship: crocheted pictures that are sewn together to become bags with a vintage feel, hand embroidery or trimmings, pouch bags with snap fasteners and woollen bucket hats. Finally, two classy details revised according to the latest trends: the quilting with new geometric shapes, eco-shearling for outerwear and ultra-soft bags (ironically dubbed "teddy bags") and headbands that decorate hairstyles with their applications of rhinestones, pearls and semi-precious stones.

Among next season's trends, the exaggerations of geometries worn lightly (and carefree) thanks to the study of increasingly light materials; the very thin border between sacred and profane, a theme where the décor element takes shape through religious symbols, including rosaries worn as necklaces in daily wear; bright colours inclined to the trends of Autumn-Winter 2021 2022, to become an attractive element of the look; bavarian jewels that adorn the décolleté with a bold aesthetic; and finally very thin chains that create playful overlaps that allow you to dare.

For the upcoming season we will find a lot of fashion jewellery characterised by large but very light shapes, personalisation with initials or literary quotes, religious and auspicious symbols. And it is indeed "luck", much sought after and therefore worn in the form of symbols, that is the star of #BeLucky, the latest exhibition in the #BE cycle at HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition, inaugurated on the first day of the fair in the presence of Emanuele Guido, Exhibition Director Business Unit Lifestyle of Fiera Milano, and Alba Cappellieri, Professor at the Politecnico di Milano.

The exhibition was organised in collaboration with Poli.Design, which also analysed the trends of the future: moodboards by the students are available at the entrance showing macro themes such as poptimism and choiceland, an important guide for next season's creations.
